Counter-Strike is an objective-based first-person shooter game where two teams of five players face off in a best of 30 rounds match. Each team is assigned to one of two sides, either Terrorist or Counter-Terrorist, and must plant the bomb or defuse it to win the round. At halftime, the teams switch sides and the game progresses until a team wins 16 rounds. Counter-Strike is one of the games that helped spur the growth of esports back in 1999, and has remained a staple in the esports world since.
